AIFORS

ERA Chair in Artificial Intelligence for Robotics

AIFORS is a Horizon 2020 ERA Chair project which aims to create an ERA Chair in Artificial Intelligence for Robotics at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (UNIZG-FER). It will enable UNIZG-FER to attract an outstanding researcher and five team members to independently implement an ambitious research strategy in AI for robotics. This will open UNIZG-FER to a new research direction with a high potential for research outputs and technology innovation. The ERA Chair holder will establish and lead a Research Group for Artificial Intelligence for Robotics assigned to the Laboratory for Autonomous Systems and Mobile Robotics (LAMOR).

News

The AIFORS project organizes training in dissemination, exploitation and communication. The training is organized in two sessions.

The first training session, focused on networking skills and communication, dissemination and IPR of research results, will take place on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, in the Gray Hall of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (UNIZG-FER) and will have the following agenda.

The second training session, dedicated to the oral presentation of research work and the writing of scientific publications, will take place on Thursday, March 28, 2024, in room A-204 of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (UNIZG-FER) and will have the following agenda.

Participation in the training sessions is open to all interested researchers from UNIZG-FER who register by noon on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, via the following link.

AIFORS project introduced by Poslovni...

Croatian daily newspaper Poslovni dnevnik and web portal Poslovni.hr have published an article introducing the AIFORS project, created within the Laboratory (LAMOR) under the coordination of professor Ivan Petrović, as one of two new research projects with Artificial Intelligence application started by FER.

Professor Petrović has pointed out that although Artificial Intelligence has been known and applied for some time we still aim to achieve the predictable and reliable behaviour of robots, which may in near future become possible with the application of advanced artificial intelligence methods. With the AIFORS project a new research group in the field of artificial intelligence and robotics will be established at FER, which will enable the Faculty to attract top researchers who will independently implement an ambitious research strategy in intelligent robotics.

AIFORS project launch

The AIFORS project formally started on January 1, 2021.

On the virtual Kick-off Meeting that was held on January 7, 2021 the project team has agreed on the first steps to be made being setting up the project website and announcing a job opening for ERA Chair holder position.

We are looking forward to the beginning of the realization of this project.
